In their welcome goody bags, summer reading kids received origami paper and instructions for folding paper cranes, like in Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. The response has been beyond our wildest dreams--kids bringing in (with much enthusiasm) boxes of cranes, bags of cranes, teeny tiny cranes, and huge cranes.
Intrepid library staffer Alex Hinners has been hard at work stringing all the cranes and hanging them in the library entrance. We love the hopeful, bright colors--the work of our terrific Eagle kids--and hope all our library patrons do too.
