David Letterman used to do an bit called "A Brush with Greatness" where audience members would stand up and recount encounters with celebrities. The AliceBakerBlog offers just such a heart-stopping story today.
Author Claire Cook has published several breezy and charming romance novels, one of which was made into the new John Cusack/Diane Lane movie, Must Love Dogs. Her other novels are Ready to Fall and Multiple Choice. They've all received good reviews and would make excellent beach reading, wending the way though the dog days of August.
Here's the brush-with-greatness part: she spent some of her growing up years in my home town, Bradford, PA, attended my school, and I assisted with swimming classes where she was an eager little paddler.
Hey--indulge me here. This is a big deal to someone from Bradford, PA.
Here's an interview with Ms. Cook. She has a website and her blog is linked.
