Hacks are tools, tips, and tricks that help users solve problems. Websites have sprung up offering hacks for work and life--Getting It Together 101. The godfather of this genre of organization is a man named David Allen, who wrote a book called Getting Things Done.
43 Folders is one of my favorite sites of this type. It offers some interesting ideas for personal organization, and while some of the discussion is tech-related, many of the suggested hacks are almost amusingly low-tech. Many reader comments center on the life-changing possibilities of carrying around a few index cards and a writing implement. Who knew? Perhaps organization is achievable after all.
Now where is my pen?
